EP/Director - Peter Matkiwsky
Peter Matkiwsky is an award winning filmmaker who has produced and directed branded entertainment since it's infancy in the digital space. After beginning his career producing sports television, Matkiwsky focused his attention to commercial efforts and fused his passion for documentary filmmaking with his understanding of marketing. As both a writer and director, Matkiwsky has created documentary and scripted narrative films that have spanned multiple genres and outlets. Peter created Rebel Road in 2010 as an opportunity to connect brands directly with fearless filmmakers, in an effort to deliver inspiring stories that engage audiences worldwide.
His work has been seen on NBC, ABC, FOX, Sports Illustrated, Time, Wired, People, Fortune, Travel & Leisure, Food & Wine, and Bustle. Most recently, Peter directed the music video for Madonna’s “I Rise”, a protest anthem that tells the story of a global population fighting for rights, recognition and survival.
Director - Elaine Del Valle
Elaine Del Valle is a bilingual, Urban-Latina, Storyteller & Director. She began her journey as a storyteller in 2009— when she wrote what ultimately became an award- winning Off-Broadway stage play, Brownsville Bred. It made a bonfire of her flame to create more thought provoking entertainment informing of her beloved Latino family and community.
With the aim of sharing her stories more broadly, she began her work for screen by directing, writing and producing a comedy web series, Reasons Y I’m Single. She won the 2017 Telly Award for her PBS series The Smallest Step, and became the first person to ever license an interstitial series (Gran’pa Knows Best) to the HBO network. Since she has subsequently licensed several short films to the network including her most recent short film as a writer/director/producer Me 3.769. Her directorial work also includes commercials and branded content for major national brands,both in English and in Spanish.
Director - Taimi Arvidson
Taimi Arvidson is a director with a decade of experience creating critically acclaimed documentaries, television series, and commercials. She recently directed two seasons of the National Geographic Channel series MARS, which was executive produced by Ron Howard and Brian Grazer. The series was nominated for an International Documentary Award for Best Episodic Series and called “visually gorgeous” by The New Yorker. Other recent work includes producing Oprah Winfrey’s BELIEF about human spirituality around the world and National Geographic’s Emmy-nominated series HARD TIME about the lives of inmates.
Her other award-winning work has been featured by clients such as Nike, CNN, Showtime, Esquire Magazine, Netflix, Discovery Channel, and more. With years of experience telling human stories with heart, Taimi brings profound authenticity and meaning to every commercial project. Her deeply intimate work focuses on telling emotionally charged stories that make people feel something.
Senior Producer - Brooke Laland
Growing up just minutes away from Skywalker Ranch, Brooke discovered her love for film after viewing A New Hope as a child. That passion for storytelling led her to NYU where she studied cinema and soon after became immersed in the NY production scene. In 2015 Brooke joined Rebel Road and has produced everything from broadcast commercials to digital shorts for some of the world's top brands.
Whether locking down major US highways, wrangling celebrities in Vegas for the fight of the century, or coordinating ridiculous stunts, there is nothing she can't do.
Post Supervisor - Josh Ethan Johnson
Josh Ethan Johnson is a masterful storyteller who's understanding of documentary and narrative filmmaking has allowed him to post produce digital media for some of the biggest outlets in the world. As a musician (Estate), Josh's understanding of music is apparent in every piece he touches. Whether it is overseeing documentaries, comedy, commercials, or music videos, Josh's style will always be sure to capture the essence of the story and move his audience. Josh's work has been seen on VICE, PBS, Time Inc., & Sony.
Josh lives in NYC where he roams the streets and photographs interesting people and places. He was called "one of the best street photographers currently alive" by The Huffington Post and has created movie cover art for A24.
DP/Director - Nick Midwig
Nick Midwig has been a director of photography for 10 years. His most recent feature MOONLIGHT SONATA was selected to premiere in the 2019 Sundance Film Festival and will air on HBO. Nick also filmed extensively for the documentary series Belief for the Oprah Winfrey Channel and the National Geographic series Mars. Nick acted as a cinematographer on the critically acclaimed documentary 12 O’Clock Boys about a notorious Baltimore street bike group that premiered at SXSW and HotDocs. He has also directed and filmed branded commercial content for clients such as the New York Times, Subaru, The Weather Channel, Red Cross, Nike, Hilton Hotels, Chrysler, Sony, and more.
DP/Director - Jason Sherman
Jason’s passion for skateboarding and a desire to document his experiences sparked his love for filmmaking at a young age. As DP/Director, he is involved in all aspects of content creation and loves to put his unique spin on things. From creating graphics in After Effects to shooting supermodels on the red carpet, it’s safe to say Jason has come a long way since filming ollies in his driveway. In 2016 Jason skated over 400 miles for his documentary that eclipsed over 1.5 million views and was featured on MTV, Dailymail, and Elite Daily to name a few. Jason also runs social media accounts with over 50k followers and over 1 million views.
Associate Producer - Madelyn Lunder
Madelyn Lunder recently graduated from Tulane University. Spending college in the unique city of New Orleans expanded her cultural knowledge and inspired her to move to New York City to explore the world of film production. So far at Rebel Road, Madelyn has helped produce live events, broadcast commercials, and short films. Her passion for helping others, travel, and creating have enabled her to grow in the production world and apply these skills to her new career both in the office and on set.
